Looking for an adventure puzzle game where the puzzles mean something? In The Final Invention, you wake up stranded on a deserted island where Professor Elias Greenfield left five unfinished inventions behind. First, you explore the island and gather resources. Then you solve the puzzles to get the inventions working – and finally, you find your way home.
What makes a good adventure puzzle game?
A good adventure puzzle game combines a world you want to explore with puzzles that feel fair and a story that pulls you forward. In addition, our user research showed that players want clear goals, visible progress and challenges without long explanations. That is why we built The Final Invention around three things:
Explore the island
Beaches, forest and the professor’s abandoned lab hide resources, clues and secrets.
Solve the puzzles
Every invention is a puzzle, so you need to work out how it works and what is missing.
Build the inventions
Repair the five prototypes and unlock new areas as the professor’s story is revealed.
Five inventions – five puzzles in one adventure puzzle game
Each of the professor’s inventions solves a real problem, and each is also a small puzzle in itself. For example, you clean water with WaterLoop, get SunCell back online and build the other machines that can send you home. In other words, sustainability is not a lesson but something you do with your own hands in the game.

The Final Invention is a single-player adventure puzzle game for anyone who likes to think things through and find the solution on their own. Moreover, you play at your own pace, with no time pressure and no combat – just an island, five puzzles and a way home. A small Danish indie team made the game, and you can buy it as a digital download in our shop.
